Logichem has been commissioned by Afriplex to design and supply an ethanol recovery still.
Afriplex is based in Paarl, South Africa, and is a leading producer of plant extracts, primarily for the export market. Ethanol is one of the solvents used in their process. During processing, the ethanol becomes diluted by water. Logichem’s still will rectify the diluted alcohol back to usable strength. This will result in considerable savings for Afriplex in terms of ethanol purchases and reduction of effluent arisings.
Logichem’s recovery still is scheduled for commissioning in September 2007.
